Roman Štětina (*1986) graduated from the Faculty of Art and Design in Pilsen, Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main (Studio of Judith Hopf and Douglas Gordon). He also went on international residencies including LUX in London and Artist-in-Residence in Vienna. He is one of the few Czech artists to work with sound which only seems indirectly related to visual arts. He also works with archive materials, recreating them into artworks with distinctive craftsmanship, intelligent humor and inventive content. He addresses the media environment based on his practice as active musician and long-time editor at the Czech Radio. He is a holder of the Essl Art Award CEE and the FilmPreis.
