"The work of Andreas Gajdošík is primarily openly activistic yet does not lack humor. He mostly focuses on events in the media and virtual space that are a symptom of more serious social issues (e.g. anti-Islamist online comments as a sign of an increasingly fascist society). Based on their analysis, Gajdošík, who has a programming experience, creates direct tools by which he approaches the issue in a parodic way.” (jury statement)

Andreas Gajdošík (*1992, Brno) graduated from the Studio of Intermedia at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Brno University of Technology. He is a member of the audio performance band European Union. He presents his work in public space, whether physical or virtual. His work consists in interventions in social media and the media sphere, programming hoax software and creating fictitious websites to form a space for critical reflection of the established structures of the art world as well as of politics and its extreme positions. Through performance, programming and audio actions, he makes an ironic and satiric commentary striving to change the status quo. Gajdošík has introduced his work on the independent Czech and Slovak gallery scene as well as at Zurich’s Cabaret Voltaire at Manifesta 11 (2016).
