The exhibition Whispering of the Walls continues the tradition of Interventions by Jindřich Chalupecký Society – a program based on responses to the specific context of a place: its architecture, history, and current museum presentation. The interventions enter existing interiors and permanent exhibitions, which they activate both thematically and physically through contemporary visual art. Individual exhibitors insert new layers of meaning into the space, often offering alternative ways of reading the present content – through the body, emotionality, care, vulnerability, or environmental awareness.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION:
Entrance to the castle is from the main courtyard without any raised obstacles and allows barrier-free access to the exhibition space on the ground floor. Visitors with strollers are also welcome. Animals are not allowed in the building, and food and drink are not permitted in the exhibition areas. There is no café in the castle or castle grounds, but a coffee machine is available. With the exception of two rooms, seating is available in all areas of the tour route.
The parking lot is located near the castle grounds, directly along the castle wall. It has reserved spaces for people with disabilities.
The castle is accessible by bus – stop "Studénka, Nová Horka" is about a 3-minute away, by walk and also by train from the Studénka station, from where there is a 2 km long footpath leading to the castle.
For more information about opening hours and admission fees can be found on the Novojičínsko Museum website dedicated to Nová Horka Castle.
The exhibition is held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
