Petra Herotová (*1980) graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Brno University of Technology in Graphic Arts and from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (Studio of Intermedia Art of Jiří David). She also went on a study stay at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (Painting Studio II/Vladimír Skrepl School). In her conceptual work, she primarily addresses the stereotypes of our roles in society. She often incorporates autobiographic features in her work, including her family, emotions and the meaning of personal identity. In terms of form, she employs texts, plans, diagrams and maps as well as performance and video. She is a holder of Startpoint Prize 2007 and presented her work at numerous Czech and Slovak institutions as well as internationally at collective exhibitions in Łódź and Riga and at Kunstmuseum Bonn.
