Only Friends: A Hotel of Dreams and Stories of Friendship

Only Friends: A Hotel of Dreams and Stories of Friendship

How will I live when I grow up? What kind of relationships will I have? Children from the Dagmar Children's Home pondered these questions in their own language and imagination in the Only Friends hotel project. They created a vision of a space based on friendship—a place for self-expression, shared creativity, and living out dreams.

The exhibition offers a glimpse into the world of children's ideas about home, where no one is alone, where everyone can find new friends and contribute their talents to make the hotel a real place where wishes come true. This vision inspires us to reflect on our own interpersonal relationships, the nature of community, and the ways we live our lives. It raises the question how the traditional model of isolated nuclear families suits us and encourages us to discover diverse forms of community living, where people share not only material resources but also care and support, and create together more than they could on their own. Come and be inspired, join in the children's dreams, and experience the atmosphere of the Hotel of Dreams created by the children of the Dagmar Children's Home.

The exhibition is the result of collaboration between children from the Dagmar Children's Home, artists Eva Koťátková, Květoslava Podhradská and the Comunite Fresca collective (Dana Balážová, Markéta Filipová, and Marie Štindlová), the Jindřich Chalupecký Society and the Moravian Gallery in Brno.
