November 29

1:00–1:45 pm Sound Bath with Stanislav Abrahám
Artist-Designed Programme by CJCh 2025 Laureate Karolína Rossí

This artist-conceived programme expands on her installation presented as part of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award 2025 exhibition. It offers a unique opportunity to connect sound and visual perception in ways that can open access to our inner worlds and tune us into a deeper awareness of surrounding reality. A sound bath is a form of group relaxation, where participants lie on mats with their eyes closed and allow themselves to be immersed in sound. Sound artist Stanislav Abrahám will use a wide range of acoustic instruments — including singing and crystal bowls, rain stick, chimes, frame drum, gong, hang drum, and his own voice — to support bodily awareness, alignment with the rhythm of breath, and the deepening of both physical and mental release. At the same time, the experience invites participants to explore deeper layers of the psyche through inner imagery. The session is non-verbal, and each participant is free to choose a comfortable position, fully relax, or even fall asleep — there is no wrong way to experience it. Yoga mats will be provided at the venue. Seating alternatives will also be available. For enhanced comfort, participants are welcome to bring their own eye mask, scarf, or light blanket.
Language: Czech / Capacity: 25 participants Admission: Free / Duration: 45 minutes
Meeting point: by the visitor elevators on the mezzanine level of the Trade Fair Palace

A Q&A with the jury of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award will offer visitors a rare look behind the scenes of how contemporary art is evaluated. In conversation with CJCh curators and jurors, you’ll learn about the criteria guiding the jury’s selection, the different approaches to assessing artistic practice, and how broader social and cultural contexts are considered in the decision-making. The discussion will include time for audience questions and provide insight into how this prestigious award—shaping the Czech art scene for more than thirty years—takes form.
